Back when I was in high school I was a sucker for buying t-shirts. Mostly of bands and video games. I wish I learned how to cross-stitch earlier because I would have just made my own stuff for a fraction of the cost and get much cooler results.

I’ve done a bunch of pixel paintings, but I thought I would try my hand at art from the manual of Super Mario Bros. 3. I’ve always loved the original artwork from this game. Just something about them! I can stare at them for minutes at a time. Minutes! These are all 40cm x 50cm acrylic on canvas.

Every artist needs a blog or site to show their stuff to the world. I finally got around to starting one. For the first post, I’d like to show off the piece that I’m most proud of. It’s bead sprites mounted on a piece of hardboard of the Super Mario Bros. 3 title screen. It measures nearly 4 feet on each side. I did this in sections since I don’t have that many pegboards. Here’s a few progress shots as it went along.
